A campaign right to education in schools that are members of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network is being held. Elchin Sardarov, head of international projects department of the Educators’ Professional Development Institute, told GreenPen.az about that.

He said that from today UNESCO holds a digital campaign to promote education in schools that are members of the Associated Schools Network project at present. Noting that education is a priority, Elchin Sardarov underlined that equal access to quality education is the core of UNESCO’s global mission. It was noted that this campaign was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the International Declaration of Human Rights. Through a series of videos, animations, visuals, and stories, the UNESCO campaign — that runs until 18 December 2018 — will unpack the legal significance of the right to education and the major challenges that are blocking its path. During the campaign, students will be asked questions about “What you need to know about the right to education?”, “Who is allowed to go to school?” At the same time, they will recognize «Social justice and equity: key principles for guiding action on the right to education”(article) and “The moment you achieve your lifelong dream” (video) and participate in their discussions. It will explain the work that UNESCO and its partners do in various countries.

An event was held at the secondary school No.44 in Baku on December 5. School principal Leyla Bakhshiyeva, head of international projects department of the Educators’ Professional Development Institute Elchin Sardarov, teachers Jeyhunya Guliyeva, Nurana Abbasova and Agca Guliyeva attended the event.

Campaign schools support the dissemination of this important idea.
