The traditional General Assembly of Network members is held once every two years. This year, the meeting is of special importance, as EENCE celebrates its 10th anniversary.
During the meeting, elections for the new Network leadership will take place. Only those who have completed re-registration will be able to vote.
The programme of the meeting also includes discussion and approval of key documents that will shape the development of the Network and the Association in the coming years.
As reported to GreenPen.az by the chairman of the Adult Education Association, member of the Coordinating Council of the Eastern European Association for CIvic Education (EENCE) Azer Ramazanov: «the mission of the Network is to have a tangible contribution to the sustainable development of the civil society in the Eastern Partnership region through widening the citizenship education sphere and developing the capacity of the institutions and experts in the field. Goal of the Working Group in Azerbaijan «Promoting change-oriented citizenship education» is to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to solve digital problems, such as the information war and its consequences for civil society». As part of the EENCE Dialogue we participate in webinars aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience between Network members and practitioners from EU countries, exploring best practices and innovative approaches to civic education».
It will be interesting to note that EENCE is a network of organizations and experts aiming at promoting exchange and development of knowledge, skills and values on citizenship education in the region of Eastern Europe.
The network was established in 2015 as a focus group within NECE with a vision in mind. That vision was to promote the exchange of non-formal and civic education experience between state and non-governmental professionals from the Eastern Partnership countries as well as to endorse networking with the EU countries both within the focus group and with other NECE focus groups.
The intention of the network is to create a platform for the long-term exchange between groups, providing the opportunity to discuss goals, subjects, formats, current needs and projects, as well as challenges that may be faced in the realm of civic education in the individual countries.
